Scenthound, an emerging leader in the dog-care industry, is raising awareness about the importance of routine dental care for dogs by attempting to set a World Record for “Most people brushing dogs’ teeth simultaneously”.

As part of their fourth annual Dog Care Awareness Day, Scenthound will attempt to set a world record for “Most people brushing dogs’ teeth simultaneously”. The current record, according the Guinness Book of World Records, is 268 dogs set in Hong Kong, China in 2012.

Dental care is one of the most important and often overlooked areas of routine maintenance. Did you know that most dogs over the age of three have some stage of periodontal disease? In addition to bad breath and eventual tooth loss, periodontal disease can affect other areas of a dog’s body, including the lungs, kidneys, and heart. Regular dental care is critical to a dog’s dental health, and also in the prevention of more serious health problems.

With the participation of not-for-profit partners Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, Friends of Jupiter Beach and Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control, along with other local businesses, Scenthound’s world record attempt will begin at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Sunday January 29, 2017 at 1pm.

Scenthound invites all dog parents to join them in making history by breaking this world record. Interested dog owners must register in order to participate. Each dog must have its own handler and must be over six months old to take part in the event. Scenthound will provide all instructions and supplies. Sign up is available online at http://www.scenthound.com and at Scenthound locations. “Scenthound has been a great supporter of ours for many years, and we’re excited to be a part of this event and support their mission to raise awareness about the importance of dental care for dogs,” said Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Executive Director/CEO, Rich Anderson.

fter several years in the grooming business, Scenthound founder and CEO, Tim Vogel, began to notice that too many dogs out there don’t get the regular care they need in order to stay healthy and happy. “We created Scenthound to make routine care affordable and accessible to all dog parents,” says Vogel. “Our mission is to educate people about preventive maintenance and to provide an easy way for them to get care for their dogs.” SCENT stands for the five core areas of maintenance – Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails, Teeth.

Scenthound locations throughout Palm Beach County are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
